Game Changer 5 Cricket New Update IPL
Wali Bhai released Game Changer 5 v4.4 on 25 October 2026. Two days later he shared an updated v4.4 with bug fixes and smoother gameplay. IPL is the biggest part of this update. Here is what is new for IPL fans:
Retention choice: before the auction you decide to keep players from last season or start fresh.
₹120 crore purse: every team gets the same budget. Players start from a base price of ₹2 crore.
Your own match settings: pick the difficulty and play anything from 2-over games to full T20s.
Impact Player: the developer showed this rule in his v4.4 preview. You can bring in a substitute during the match like in the real IPL.
Real faces: star players like Kohli, Rohit and Dhoni now look much closer to the real ones.
IPL is not new in the game. It first came as IPL Auction 2025 in v4. It came back in v4.2 on 28 February 2026 and stayed in v4.3. v4.4 is the biggest IPL update so far.

How To Play IPL Auction in Game Changer 5
You don’t need any extra file for the auction. It is a full mode inside v4.4. Follow these steps to run your first IPL auction.
Open Game Changer 5 and tap LEAGUES. Then choose IPL AUCTION.
Pick your team. Set the difficulty and the number of overs for the season.
On the Retention Strategy screen tap YES to keep players from last season. Tap NO to start fresh with the full purse.
The auction room opens. Each player card shows the base price, the player’s ratings and the current bid.
Tap BID to raise the price. Tap SKIP to let a player go. Tap HUB to check your squad and the money you have left.
Keep an eye on the purse of other teams. When an AI team runs out of money it can’t bid against you.
When your squad is full tap TOURNAMENT and start the season.
IPL Auction Rules
Purse: every team gets ₹120 crore.
Base price: players start from ₹2 crore. Big stars go past ₹10 crore very fast.
Retention: it is your choice. In v4 your first retained player cost ₹18 crore, the second ₹14 crore and the third ₹11 crore. An uncapped player cost ₹4 crore. This money comes out of your purse.
RTM: the Right to Match card lets a team buy back its old player by matching the final bid.
Overseas players: they have a plane icon in your squad.
These are the rules of the game. The rules for the real IPL 2027 auction are not announced yet.
Tips To Win the IPL Auction
Don’t spend half your purse on the first big name. Good players come up in every round.
Keep ₹15 to 20 crore for the end. AI teams run low on money and you can get good players at base price.
Buy two strong death bowlers before you chase more batters. Most matches are won in the last overs.
Retain a player only if his retention price is lower than what he would cost in the auction.
Use SKIP for players you don’t need. It saves time and money.
Use your overseas slots on match winners, not on backup players.
